The Sharwil avocado (Type B) was bred in 1951 in Redland Bay, Queensland by Frank Sharpe. It is a regular bearer of large-sized fruit with rough bumpy green skin. Known for its rich buttery flavour (similar to Hass but larger size fruit), high oil content, and small seed. It is highly regarded for its excellent quality – some say the best tasting avocado of all!

Grafted on Velvick rootstock for disease resistance, and better tolerance to clay soil.
