The Rubropetala (Mangifera rubropetala) is a rare fruit tree bearing small sweet fruits similar in taste to a mango. It has smooth shiny thin orange/yellow skin, yellow flesh with low fibre content, and a sweet mango-like flavour. Not yet found in the wild, this rare tree has been under cultivation in Sabah (N. Borneo) and Sarawak where it is well appreciated among the the locals. With only a small number available each year, it’s a rare gem for avid fruit tree collectors.
A small to medium sized mango tree, it usually grows to about 3 to 5 meters tall when mature.
