The Sapodilla Sawo Manila, also known as Manilkara zapota, is a tropical evergreen tree prized for its sweet, brown fruit. Native to southern Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, the tree is now widely cultivated in various tropical regions around the world, including the Philippines where it is commonly referred to as “Sawo Manila.”
The Sawo Manila tree can reach heights of up to 30 metres (98 feet) and is characterised by its dense, glossy green foliage and rough, dark brown bark.
