Torch Ginger ‘Burmese Pink’ (Etlingera elatior) is a tropical plant with lush green leaves and large soft-pink flower heads. It is mainly grown as a feature plant in warm, frost-free gardens and is popular as a long-lasting cut flower. The young, unopened flower buds are edible and are sometimes used in Southeast Asian cooking for a mild, citrus-like flavour.
